I am inspired by the human figure, and the events and interactions between people such as love, death, joy, betrayal, fertility, motherhood, and loss of freedom.
I speak through the language of symbols- some personal, some widely accepted culturally.
I am a direct carver- searching for forms under the skin of the stone’s surface, fascinated with its fluid nature. I respect the stone itself, not changing it unless the idea is worth sacrificing the natural form- which is already beautiful and timeless.
Through my sculptures, I draw attention to some simple beauty I have noticed, working towards a simple elegance.
